The 15th Annual Southeastern Pediatric Research Conference will showcase the breadth and impact of pediatric research being conducted throughout the southeastern United States. This year’s conference will feature groundbreaking work from Emory University, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Georgia Tech, Morehouse School of Medicine, and other leaders in pediatric research and healthcare.
The 2026 conference theme, “Bench to Bedside and Beyond: Risk Factors and Intervention Strategies in Childhood Disease and Injury,” will highlight cutting-edge research across all areas of child health, with a focus on translating scientific discovery into meaningful improvements in pediatric care.
We are excited to announce that Dr. Alison Cernich of Shriners Children’s Research Institute will be one of this year’s featured speakers. Dr. Cernich will present on the vision for Shriners Children’s Research Institute, offering attendees valuable insight into the institute’s research priorities, future direction, and commitment to improving outcomes for children.
Attendees can look forward to a dynamic day of keynote lectures, selected oral abstract presentations, poster sessions and competition, networking opportunities, and meaningful knowledge-sharing among basic scientists, clinical researchers, pediatricians, and healthcare providers.
The conference will take place on Friday, August 28, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Georgia Aquarium, located at 246 Ivan Allen Jr. Blvd, Atlanta, GA 30313. Conference highlights also include complimentary evening aquarium admission and door prizes.
